Description

Description:

Brunei, officially known as the Nation of Brunei, the Abode of Peace, is a small sovereign state located on the northern coast of the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia. It shares borders with the Malaysian states of Sarawak and Sabah. With a land area of approximately 5,765 square kilometers (2,226 square miles), Brunei is one of the smallest countries in the world.

29th Sultan Mosque - Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque

The 29th Sultan Mosque, also known as Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque, is a significant religious and architectural landmark in Brunei. It is named after Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, who is the 29th Sultan of Brunei and has been in power since 1967.

Mangroves in Brunei

In Brunei's lush mangroves, you can witness the unique ecology of the Asian Amazon forest. The wildlife in the mangroves is diverse, including melodious birdsong, insect chirping, and reptiles. Surrounded by rare wetland environments such as freshwater swamps, mangroves, and intertidal mudflats, you can also encounter proboscis monkeys, migratory birds, flying squirrels, and other species exclusive to Asia.

One Billionth Barrel Monument

The monument was built in 1991. It was commemorated by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah on 18 July 1991. The monument commemorates the production of the billionth barrel of oil produced in the onshore oil field in Seria.
